NCJW plays an important advocacy role in the lives of children, women and families. We educate via forums on issues for our members and the community. We track key issues on the local, state and national levels. We advocate by way of "Day on the Hill" during the Texas Legislative Session, emailing action alerts, letter-writing campaigns, and joining with coalition partners who share our interests.
Let NCJW provide you with an avenue for personal growth, at your own pace and comfort level. You can make a difference. Are you concerned, for example, by how our state budget crisis, with its severe cuts in services, will impact our neediest children and their families? Are you disturbed by the constant stream of judicial nominees whose stance on individual rights, reproductive choice, and separation of church and state is troublesome? Look over the following list of some of NCJW's critical issues. Is there one that resonates with you?
- Quality, affordable, and accessible childcare
- Separation of religion and state; opposition to school vouchers and support for public education
- Women's health, reproductive choice and family planning
- Domestic violence prevention and education
- Children's health: access to health care coverage, immunizations, early intervention and prevention programs, and mental health services
- Individual rights including BenchMark: NCJW's Campaign to Save Roe
- Support a secure Israel and work for the well being of all its people
NCJW will support you as you explore public affairs. We invite you to contribute your time and passion, to any degree, to any of these issues. Together, we will make a difference!
