Taking a stand on public policy and legislative issues that affect women, children and families is the heart of NCJW Austin’s work. As a nonpartisan advocacy organization, NCJW educates and mobilizes individuals and communities to become a vital force for action on the local, state, national, and international levels. We educate via monthly networking events, with speakers on issues relating to our advocacy work. We track key issues on the local, state and national levels. We mobilize by way of "Day on the Hill" during the Texas Legislative Session, emailing action alerts, letter-writing campaigns, and joining with coalition partners who share our interests.
NCJW Austin is also involved in community projects that help improve the lives of women and children in Austin's Jewish community and in the community at large. Projects change based on need or on issues being emphasized at the local or national NCJW level. These projects can be on-going or one time events. We strive to improve the lives of those suffering from domestic violence, poverty, and social injustice.
