Caritas of Austin is a non-profit organization located here in Austin. Caritas provides comprehensive services to support the housing stability and self-sufficiency of the homeless, working poor, and documented refugees. Caritas provides a service continuum for those experiencing poverty that begins with a safety net and links them to resources to achieve self-sufficiency. Caritas envisions a community where there is respect for all individuals, hope for those experiencing poverty, and opportunities for self-reliance.
This year, Caritas will:
- Prevent 2,000 men and women from becoming homeless.
- Provide take-home groceries for 43,000 meals from our Food Pantry.
- Serve over 85,000 hot meals in our Community Kitchen.
- Provide 800 classes on topics like smart shopping.
- Place 440 individuals in jobs at local businesses.
The cost is $20 for NCJW members and $22 for non-members, all inclusive (cash only please). Newcomers are always welcome. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by November 1st.
