March Happy Hour With Sandy Dochen On His Recent JCC Mission To Cuba

The National Council of Jewish Women Austin Section will host a happy hour on Thursday, March 12th at Café Express, 3418 N. Lamar Blvd. Networking time is 5:30pm; the program starts at 6:00pm. Sandy and his wife joined 36 others on the January JCC Mission To Cuba. He’ll discuss the group’s visit with Jewish communities in two cities and his impressions of the state of Cuba today and in the future.
Sandy is IBM’s Manager of Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs for Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, where he leads several programs including Smarter Cities Challenge, Corporate Service Corp, coordinating consulting grants for non-profit organizations and volunteer recruitment. He is also a member of the Austin Area Research Organization and board member of Workforce Solutions Capital Area. His work and personal passion center on education improvement, workforce development, diversity and leadership development. Previous to IBM, Sandy was VP of government relations and community development for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. He has served as a Vice President at both Congregation Beth Israel and Temple Beth Shalom. He co-chaired the Capital Campaign for the new building at Temple Beth Shalom. He has been president of the Jewish Community Association of Austin and is currently vice chair of Philanthropy for Shalom Austin.
